Journaling through Proverbs

Image
One of my favorite things on earth is Bible study. I did my first study book while still in grade school. When I had my first child we lived far from family and I found comfort in my evening study time. I joined my first ladies Bible study about 15 years ago. It was life changing for me. .  We were a small group who prayed, encouraged and worked our way through Beth Moore's Breaking Free. I was hooked. The ladies were of all ages and walks of life and they taught me so much about living and loving and the Bible. Wednesday night we have a ladies Bible study at our church. We have traveled many journeys together in our classroom. In the last 12 years, our study has taken us through nearly every book of the Bible, in depth.  Some of the authors we have used are Beth Moore, Ann  Voscamp,  Francis Chan, Kelly Minter, Pricilla Shirer. These are just a few.  Pictured a Above are the books I had at hand. There are many more tucked away. I got something from every study.

NEW YOUNG LIVING PRODUCTS!! MAKEUP!!

I know this is just a few days after the Young Living 2017 Convention, and I have been busy trying to gather information for you. There are so many new products! I am not going to cover all the new items in one post I will break it up by similar products.  Today is MAKEUP!!  Not any makeup but Savvy Minerals. Yes, that's right, if you love Melissa Poepping's Sweet Savvy Minerals evidently so did Young Living. They have partnered and now are being sold under the YL brand!  Why am I so excited, well I can earn ER points on my makeup. I can place one order with supplements, oils, household cleaning items, personal products and makeup. SERIOUSLY!  I have been using the Sweet Savvy brand since it debuted. I like every item I have tried. It is still the best no toxic mascara out there. Unfortunately, the mascara won't be in the first line of products available. But I hear it will be available in August. Here is the starter line with all the products a

Making Laundry Soap in a Pinch

I ran out of my Thieves laundry soap this week. I know, big deal. In a normal week, this would be a problem but we could survive until my next monthly Young Living order arrived. This week was not normal. We had been gone for a week and had laundry for the whole family to do before two of my kids left in 1 day for a week of camp. I had also offered to let our Youth Minister do his laundry at our house as he was doing the 1 day turn around between weeks of camp too. OOPS!  We gave the last of our Thieves Laundry soap to our youth minister when I realized I didn't have another bottle.  But I have a few bottles of the regular Thieves Household Cleaner (THC). So here is a quick and easy recipe to get you through. I know you hear everyone claim they use it for everything. Well, its true. Depending on the size of your load, (I have an HE large capacity machine) in the liquid dispenser of your machine: 1 capful of the THC - you can use up to 2 caps if you have an extr

Home Education Hope

This is not a "how-to" post. It is a "you can do it" post. I am not an educational expert. I am a mom who managed to home-educate my three children.  And no one died! I'm not done yet. Two are in college and one is in high school (at home).  This home education thing is still a work in progress. Tailored to each child.  Disclaimer: Home education is not for everyone. There are plenty of families who shouldn't homeschool, and plenty who simply can't or don't want to. I am thankful for public education, and two of my children are planning on working in some capacity in the public education arena. I will say the beginning was daunting. My husband would say "if they fail, it's on you." I would think if they succeed it's on me too. :) He did support me, and they didn't fail. I did though. Quite a bit. There were times the kids succeeded in spite of me. I was an all in mom/teacher. The kids didn't need that though. I r
