While we all do our best to social distance I am trying to get videos up a bit faster. This one is just what we are up to.  I have to admit it is easy to lose track of time and not be productive.  There is a bit of cooking, sewing, gaming, and essential oils all in this video. Here is the history -  (if you want to skip this scroll down to the next bolded section) I don't post a lot about my son's medical condition. He was diagnosed with Parry Romberg Syndrome at 5 years old. I knew something was wrong starting at 2 1/2. It took over two years and lots of doctors to get a diagnosis and start treatment.  Because PRS is a rare disease, ( Click the link to learn more about  Parry Romberg Syndrome .) there hasn't been much research or treatment history for this condition. We were so fortunate to find a doctor who happened to read an article about it, start some research and figure it out.  Beginning treatment at age 5 slowed the atrophy and scarring that characterizes most PRS patients. His symptoms and pain went into remission at age 5 with the treatment of steroids and low dose chemo. He went for nearly 4 years with check-ups and no medication. We were so thankful! Where to begin? So much has changed in less than a year. Here is what has happened since moving to Kansas in September of 2018. 1. I am no longer teaching sewing in the classroom. (insert tears here) I still hope to teach again. I love it and miss it. A few attempts at video tutorials have been made. I am still figuring it all out. Thieves Household cleaner is the only cleaner you need to buy!  This week I made wet mopping pads (like Swiffer without all the bad ingredients). I already have the mop that takes the wet or dry pads. What you need: dry mop pads a sealable container distilled water Thieves Household cleaner Thieves liquid dish soap 1 cup distilled water 1/2 cap of Thieves Household cleaner 1 tsp of Thieves dish soap Optional: add a few drops of lemon essential oil for a more lemony smell.  This is the same recipe I use for the thieves wipes only halved! Do you love a bath bomb but not the price, sketchy ingredients, and loads of dye that stains your tub? Me too! They are so easy to make and the ingredients are easy to come by.  You will notice I don't use any dyes in my products. That is my personal preference. I have a jetted tub and I do not like trying to get it clean after using brightly colored bath products. I also don't add lots of dried flowers or herbs for the same reason. We made these sweet treats to give away this year.  Ingredients: Almond bark, mini pretzels, crushed peppermint candy, and 1-2 drops Vitality Peppermint oil from Young Living. If you want to know more about cooking with essential oils click here! I started with half the package of almond bark broken into chunks in my 2 cup pyrex measuring cup. Set the measuring cup into a small pot of water on the stove on low-medium heat (double boiler). Stir occasionally. Once fully melted remove the measuring cup from the water. Now is the time to drop just one to two drops of your Young Living Peppermint Vitality Essential Oil in.  Drop in a few pretzels at a time to coat. My favorite tool for dipping pretzels is a stainless steel chopstick! Lay the coated pretzels on parchment paper and sprinkle with the crushed peppermint candy.  Once cool, I packaged them in cellophane cones and tied with a cute curling ribbon. These were sim...
