McCalls 7323 - Another favorite pattern!

Image
I love this pattern for a t-shirt with a little something extra. It fits great and is simple to make. A good one for sewists of any level! Change it up by using coordinating fabrics or a stripe that gets matched at the front seam.  👆  Check out my TeeSpring shop! 👆 I have mugs too

Kwik Sew 4256 ~ I Made Ring Fit Pants!

Image
Don't laugh, I love playing Ring Fit Adventure. I struggle with the leg strap staying in place though. Even if you aren't working out with a video game this pattern is a keeper. It has a cute style, quick to sew and I show you how to add pockets. Before you cut it out watch my review. I found an error in mine that was easy to fix (if you haven't cut it out yet). Simplicity 9017 Top - Sew With Me

Image
Last week I made the pants in this pattern. This week we make the top! This is a good beginner pattern with a mod style. It gives me Star Trek vibes. I give a full review at the end of the video. There are timestamps in the video if you click through to watch on YouTube.

Simplicity 9017- Pants

Image
Simple and fashionable is just my style! This Simplicity pattern is a great beginner pattern but looks interesting and current.  This week I make the pants, next week the top. I added a little pocket for my phone too, because pants without pockets... Nope.

McCalls 7262 Drapey Sweater

Image
If you are looking for a great multi-season jacket this may be the one! This sweater can be buttoned up for a cowl neck. Left open it drapes in a flattering way. I really like this pattern! Watch at the end to see how I made some changes to the finishes that elevated the look! PS. It is a fast sew too! After wearing this a few times I decided it needed a little revision. The end of the video has that plus buttons and buttonholes.

Vogue 1665 ~ One Hour Top - with simple alterations

Image
I love an interesting design. A little detail that makes a garment special. This pattern has it! Bonus points for it being a super quick and easy project. I made two tops this time, both from the same pattern. The black and gold one I have worn many times already. It just looks great and effortless to wear. I am sure as the temps drop the blue one will be a favorite too. It is just too warm to wear yet. Burda 6345 ~ One Day Sew ~ Knit Tunic

Image
Ready for another great fast project this week? This took only a few hours from cutting to hem. Do you have a directional or striped knit and have been waiting for the perfect pattern? This may be it! Make sure to check out the pattern prep and cutting layout if you are a new sewist. It was easy but could be confusing to some from the pattern info. There are timestamps in the Youtube description.

New Look 6511 ~ Sew with Me

Image
This week's project was a one day sew!  This pattern is quick and easy and so cute on!  I made view C. The neckline and armscye are finished in bias. I deviated from the pattern (no surprise) by adding 5.5 inches to the hem, and by making it in knit instead of a woven.  I also added a pocket and only did the bias in the neckline. Because the fabric is knit, I was able to simply turn under the seam allowance and topstitch the underarm.  I've pretty much been living in this dress since the day I made it.  Highly recommend.

Easy T-shirt Dress - Sew With Me

Image
This fast project takes a t-shirt you already have and about a half yard of fabric depending on the size. For this dress, I used a size 10/12 child's t-shirt and a half yard of 60" wide knit fabric. Options: If you choose to use a cotton woven fabric you will need the skirt length twice for this size or larger to get enough gathers. A baby size could literally use a 1/4 yard of fabric or less. This project only took about 30 minutes. TeeSpring Shop

Sew With Me ~ A Fast Liquid Lame' Shirt

Image
I made a fast liquid lame' shirt for my sis this week. The project took just less than 2 hours actual time to complete including pattern prep. A few details about this project: pattern: Vogue 9057 (Marcy Tilton R10066) fabric from JoAnn's Fabric: liquid lame' knit I did not hem the sleeve or bottom of the shirt because it made the hem bulky and it would not drape softly. This fabric is knit and does not fray. Sewing machine: Bernina 770QE Want to see more sewing videos? Check out my Youtube channel. Interested in learning more about essential oils? Click here.
