Our house in Oklahoma is now occupied by a new family. We have been staying with our family for six days now. Eight more days of being a transient to go! We are so thankful that the time between houses was shortened by a week and we are now closing five days earlier.  Here is what we are doing during this time of floating. 3 days of packing and loading I prepared for the packers by grouping items together in the rooms I wanted them associated with. I put all my diffusers together in the kitchen (except the one I packed to go with us on our travels). When you are bopping along with a nice routine and a full life, the hamster wheel, and suddenly it comes loose and you careen out of your comfy newspaper lined cage onto the floor and the dog starts chasing you. Let's talk about Epsom salt. This simple inexpensive product is so underrated!  Epsom salt will give you a good magnesium boost and is great to soothe tired muscles and relax before bed. Start by c overing the bottom with Epsom salt.  Next, add a few drops of essential oils to the top of the salt before I drop in the water.  Choose oils that will support you at that moment. If you need to relax, try lavender or peace and calming. Feeling a little under the weather add thieves oil. Need some respiratory support, add eucalyptus and peppermint. Here is a little trick I do to get the most out of my YL deodorant.  First of all, I love their deodorant, both scents. I always have a little bit left in the container. Just a tad. But I want to use it all! I pull out the insert with the leftovers in it. Then I pry out all the deodorant into a glass measuring cup. I forgot to take a pic of the pieces before I melted them down. Over a double boiler melt the pieces down.  I personally like to add a few drops of lemongrass. It is fresh and bright. Then put the insert back into one of the empty tubes and roll it down so there is plenty of room to pour in the mixture.  It sets up quickly!  Roll it up to close to the top before it completely sets and let it set up for a few hours.  That's it! We are a homeschool family. One of the many perks of this was having more freedom with our schedule. I would give longer holiday breaks when the children were younger and do a little refresher in the summer once in a while so we didn't lose any learning. We took vacations offseason and would take off on the prettiest sunny days instead of snow days.  Then...   I know this is a mess to look at, but this is what school often looked like at our house.  I miss this in many ways. Well... With adult and high school age children, things get complicated. We have to coordinate around college terms, co-op schedules, and activities. Add in regular visits to doctors and we have become slaves to the calendar. How did this happen?  Now Even a family vacation including all five of us is difficult now, but not impossible.  Now we snatch every moment together like precious jewels of time. Our church does a silent auction in the spring and I love that I can donate to a good cause and share about my oily business. I went in planning on using my 40% coupon on a basket but half off is even better, and I used my coupon on something else!  This basket is shallow with two birds perched in one corner. I love it and want to go back and get myself one.  I bought an inexpensive but large capacity diffuser from Amazon. This week we are tackling all the toxins in our household products. A quick note. I will be using "toxins" instead of "chemicals" when discussing the bad things in our environment.
