Traditional Vegan Scone Recipe Everyone will LOVE!

Image
I'm kinda known for my scones. They are a family favorite. We eat them with fresh fruit and a drop of heavy coconut cream for an easy lovely dessert. I found it was easy to adapt my traditional recipe and make it vegan!  I think reading Wodehouse, and Christie as a child made me love the idea of English Teatime. When I tried my first scone recipe I was hooked.  Ingredients: 2 cups unbleached flour 1 tsp baking powder 1/3 cup sugar, plus 1/8 cup for dusting 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp almond extract 1/2 (approximately) can of first pressing coconut milk Directions: Set oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl combine the flour, baking powder, salt and 1/3 cup sugar.  DO NOT shake up the canned coconut milk. Scoop out the top 1/4 of the can's thick white part of the coconut. Add the extracts. Combine gently, it should become crumbly. Continue to add small amounts of the clear portion of the coconut milk until fully

Breakup with your Makeup Class

Image
This past weekend I did a break up with your make up class with some of my E. oily friends. I did a powerpoint with all the skincare and makeup from Young Living! The room was set up in a U shape with personal mirrors, and table glitter for a bit of glam.    To the side, we had the FULL line of makeup and skincare on display. This allowed us to swatch and color match for everyone so they could order their best colors!  I don't have the full line but between the three of us that put the class on, we have everything! So do classes with your crossline cousins. :)  I am so sad I didn't take pictures of everyone after they were all made up in their Savvy Faces! Look below for my Fast Savvy Face right before the class.  Suggested supply list for the class: Diffusers - (gotta make the room smell amazing) I diffused lime and peppermint that day.  Tables cloths - this gives continuity to the room and makes for easy cleanup of the makeup. Get The Most Out of Your YL Deoderant

Image
Here is a little trick I do to get the most out of my YL deodorant.  First of all, I love their deodorant, both scents. I always have a little bit left in the container. Just a tad. But I want to use it all! I pull out the insert with the leftovers in it. Then I pry out all the deodorant into a glass measuring cup. I forgot to take a pic of the pieces before I melted them down. Over a double boiler melt the pieces down.  I personally like to add a few drops of lemongrass. It is fresh and bright. Then put the insert back into one of the empty tubes and roll it down so there is plenty of room to pour in the mixture.  It sets up quickly!  Roll it up to close to the top before it completely sets and let it set up for a few hours.  That's it! Now I have weeks more of deo to use!  Do not mix the deodorant of other people together! Make sure you wipe away any lint etc. before you melt it down. Get your own Young Living account!

Is It Summer Yet? New seasons of life don't always fall in line with the calender.

We are a homeschool family. One of the many perks of this was having more freedom with our schedule. I would give longer holiday breaks when the children were younger and do a little refresher in the summer once in a while so we didn't lose any learning. We took vacations offseason and would take off on the prettiest sunny days instead of snow days.  Then...   I know this is a mess to look at, but this is what school often looked like at our house.  I miss this in many ways. Well... With adult and high school age children, things get complicated. We have to coordinate around college terms, co-op schedules, and activities. Add in regular visits to doctors and we have become slaves to the calendar. How did this happen?  Now Even a family vacation including all five of us is difficult now, but not impossible.  Now we snatch every moment together like precious jewels of time. The blessing of new freedoms and growth are welcome.  I always knew I would tra
