McCalls 7323 - Another favorite pattern!

Image
I love this pattern for a t-shirt with a little something extra. It fits great and is simple to make. A good one for sewists of any level! Change it up by using coordinating fabrics or a stripe that gets matched at the front seam.  👆  Check out my TeeSpring shop! 👆 I have mugs too

Upcycle A Button-Down Into An Off The Shoulder

Image
Do you have an hour to sew and some old button-downs that need a new life? That's today's project! It works best if the shirts are oversized. I show a sleeve variation too! Happy sewing!   This is the shirt on my lovely daughter!

Burda 6426 ~ Classic Linen Button-Down Shirt (from sheets)

Image
The gorgeous linen used in this week's project is upcycled from a pair of sheets! The fabric was lovely to work with. This Burda pattern is a classic button-down with a traditional collar. Check out those shell buttons too! Sew with me and make a practical and classic shirt.

Simplicity 8799 ~ Vintage Look Nightgown

Image
Here is a lovely vintage pattern that has been brought back! It is quick and easy, great for a new sewist. However, the simplicity makes it a great option for adding lace, using interesting fabrics, and playing around with trims.  Easily make a whole collection of new nighties with this pattern! Love the look of vintage lingerie? Check out the video below for a glamourous classic Hollywood-style peignoir robe.  Please consider subscribing to my Youtube channel, and liking the video. Simplicity 9110 ~ Working to get the right fit and look

Image
Pants can be hard to get a good fit and plus-size can be even more difficult.  This week I sew up Simplicity 9110, a cropped pant with patch pockets. This is a fast and attractive pattern, BUT it wasn't flattering for my figure. So, take a little journey with me as I work out a good look along with a good fit.  The video has the complete tutorial to make them according to the pattern, plus pattern alterations before and after sewing!

Two Totes from Scraps ~ Sew with me!

Image
This week's video is a true sew-along.  I make two totes using up large scraps. The bags are made to make the best use of the fabric pieces I had. The first bag is the smaller one. It uses about half a yard of fabric. and is lined. The second bag is larger unlined and used about a yard of fabric total or half a yard of two fabrics.  Bonus at the end where I show how to make a false bottom or plastic inserts for stability.  In this week's video, you really get to see how I design and work.  Supplies needed: woven fabric, interfacing, thread   My TeeSpring Shop Sewing With Stacy Facebook Community   Make a matching zipper bag Sewing Machine: Bernina 770QE Overlock/Serger: Bernina L890

Simplicity 8124 - Make a dress in a few hours!

Image
First of all, the sound at the beginning of the video is a mess. It does get better! I was so disappointed because I did a soundcheck and it was fine. :( Hang on past the overview and it is much better!  This adorable pattern is a great one for a new sewist. It only took a few hours to cut out and sew. This is a project you can make in the morning and wear in the afternoon! Close up of the lovely border print. Upcycle T-shirts into Dresses

Image
I have lots of t-shirts that fit fine but aren't long enough. They are perfect for this kind of project. I even show how to use the leftover t-shirt fabric to make a pocket!  Check out my first go at this project here where I make a children's version. Simplicity 9017 Top - Sew With Me

Image
Last week I made the pants in this pattern. This week we make the top! This is a good beginner pattern with a mod style. It gives me Star Trek vibes. I give a full review at the end of the video. There are timestamps in the video if you click through to watch on YouTube.

Burda 6590 Sewing up one of my favorite, fast patterns!

Make a Basic Christmas Tree Skirt

Image
I threw this tree skirt together with what I had on hand already. This was a make-do project but that can be our secret. Close up of the trim application. The lining side of the skirt.

Mitered Corner Napkins

Image
Napkins are a favorite handmade item I love to make for gifts. Doing a mitered corner elevates the look and quality.

Simplicity 8452 - One Hour, One Yard, Vintage Style Top

Image
Check out my review before you make this project, especially if you are plus size. I don't hate it but... It definitely isn't meant to a fuller figure. Make the shirt I am wearing in the video!

Fall Pillows - Two Ways and Applique

Image
Time to get some fall decor projects! These slipcovers could just be pillows too. I like slipcovers because I can change them out and they are easy to store.  (Timestamps in the Youtube description)

Vogue 1665 ~ One Hour Top - with simple alterations

Image
I love an interesting design. A little detail that makes a garment special. This pattern has it! Bonus points for it being a super quick and easy project. I made two tops this time, both from the same pattern. The black and gold one I have worn many times already. It just looks great and effortless to wear. I am sure as the temps drop the blue one will be a favorite too. It is just too warm to wear yet. Simplicity 9012 Easy Breezy Dress

Image
Let's make a transitional dress (or top)! Simplicity 9012 is a loosely fitted raglan sleeve pattern with an elastic neck and sleeve at the elbow. It is soft, flowy, and easy to wear. I made the view A dress with the View B sleeve. This is another easy project but the interesting details make it look designer! I made the belt and I show it on, but I won't likely be wearing it. I think I look like a sack of potatoes tied in the middle, to quote my grandmother. :) Timestamps in the Youtube description   This is another fast and easy project, but it doesn't look like it.  Sewing With Stacy Facebook Page YouTube Channel
