In my everyday life, I am a sewing teacher and homeschool mom. That is what I went to college for, and it really is my passion. I am doing a few videos with step by step instructions for my sewing students. This lets them continue to work on projects at home or remake them with confidence. But, anyone can sew along! Here is my  first   sewing tutorial video on pillowcases. It is the first project my students make and one that does not need a paper pattern. If you are in the essential oil world you know education is everything. You have to be willing to vet through a lot of information and testimonials. This is why classes are so important!  I try to give at least two classes a month. I would like to do more and if I can I will. Usually, classes are in-home but sometimes we need to pack up and take our class with us. This week I did a class the public library with my oily mentor.  I didn't get to go to the YL convention this year but she did. While she was gone I prepared the power point, made the door prizes, set up the event and promoted! She soaked up all the great information and bought the new products samples!  So only home a few days from her trip to Utah, we met at the library and did a new products class. This is not a "how-to" post. It is a "you can do it" post. I am not an educational expert. I am a mom who managed to home-educate my three children.  And no one died! I'm not done yet. Two are in college and one is in high school (at home).  This home education thing is still a work in progress. Tailored to each child.  Disclaimer: Home education is not for everyone. There are plenty of families who shouldn't homeschool, and plenty who simply can't or don't want to. I am thankful for public education, and two of my children are planning on working in some capacity in the public education arena. I will say the beginning was daunting. My husband would say "if they fail, it's on you." I would think if they succeed it's on me too. :) He did support me, and they didn't fail. I did though. Quite a bit. Sharing is caring! I love having in home classes and telling others about the benefits of essential oils.  I know that it can be intimidating so I am sharing how I do the basic or 101 class it in my home.  Start with a good diffuser blend. I used a fall scent for the season. This one was orange, clove, cinnamon bark, and pine. Thieves blend  is  good but can cause detox in some so it is one I avoid. Stress Away, Purification, and just orange are all good ones too.  I personally think fresh flowers make a home look inviting. I usually have flowers in my home anyway but I  step it up a notch when I do a class.  I always have food at my classes. Many have food allergies etc. so I usually stick with cheese, fruit, veggies, and do a gluten free cracker. (Pardon the mess, I took the pic before I put away everything.) Fruit-infused water and tea are usually what I offer to drink. I always introduce NingXia juice during the class...
