DIY Bath Fizzies for Your Home Spa (notox)

Image
Do you love a bath bomb but not the price, sketchy ingredients, and loads of dye that stains your tub? Me too! They are so easy to make and the ingredients are easy to come by.  You will notice I don't use any dyes in my products. That is my personal preference. I have a jetted tub and I do not like trying to get it clean after using brightly colored bath products. I also don't add lots of dried flowers or herbs for the same reason. Who needs to spend even more time cleaning? Watch the step by step video below or skip on down for the recipe and directions. When fully combined it will feel like wet sand and hold its shape when pressed in your hand. However you decide to mold them, they will need 24 hours to completely dry before they are stored.  In the video, I used lavender essential oil and organic vanilla extract for relaxing bath experience. Below is a list of oils and why you might want to use them. Eucalyptus - respiratory...

Why You Should be Diffusing at Night

Image
Friends, there is hardly ever a time not to diffuse!  Here are some good reasons to add diffusing to your nighttime routine. 1. The humidity will help your breathing, especially in the winter when the heater is running. Add one drop each of peppermint, lavender, and lemon, or try RC, Raven, or one of the eucalyptus oils to get the full benefit. 2.  Adding certain essentials oil will help you relax and sleep more soundly. Here are a few  suggestions: lavender, valerian, Stress Away, Peace and Calming 3.  Boost your immunity while you sleep. Thieves  is  my personal go-to for immunity support I sometimes add orange just because it smells great while still doing all good stuff.  Frankincense is a good on its own or with Thieves. 4.   Do you need any more reasons? Just kidding! DREAMS- really. Some essential oils may help you in this area are Dream Catcher and sandalwood. 5. Do-over. sometimes I need an emotional reset at the end...

Making Gift Baskets for Events

Image
Our church does a silent auction in the spring and I love that I can donate to a good cause and share about my oily business. I have also donated items to teacher appreciation events.  Here is the adorable metal basket I found at Hobby Lobby ON SALE!! I went in planning on using my 40% coupon on a basket but half off is even better, and I used my coupon on something else!  This basket is shallow with two birds perched in one corner. I love it and want to go back and get myself one.  I bought an inexpensive but large capacity diffuser from Amazon. I have the box with the cord and directions that I will send home with the winning bidder. The basket looks much nicer without it though.  Next, I added a hand crocheted cotton cloth. I make these all the time because  I can't sit still. I have to always be doing something. Which means I have a few hanging around the house. It looks special with the ribbon band around it.  I recycled a T...

DIY Sheet Masks

Image
Sheet masks are everywhere in every price range. I have found they can be an amazing addition to a beauty routine.  The best one I have ever used is this one. It is the ART Beauty Masque from Young Living. My skin looked amazing after using it. The mask (masque) is actually quite large and you can trim off the excess and apply it to your neck!  So why make your own when there are so many available? Price and targeted support! Why would you want to use a sheet mask? They are easy, not too messy, can be done at home, and really do nourish your skin if you choose the right ingredients!  Here is how it works. Buy dry, plain sheet masks. The ones in the picture are from Diaso. They can be ordered from Amazon for $6.45 for a dozen. I think I paid about half that at the store. These masks feel like fabric and are made of cotton. Start with a clean face. I seldom use a foundation and my favorite way to clean my face at the end of the day is...

Healthy Hair - Natural Support

Image
Hair is sort of a big deal to me. I have always had thick hair for a blonde. But I started losing hair in my mid-forties and it freaked me out!  I immediately started researching reasons for my sudden shedding.  The main reason women around my age start losing hair is hormones. I know... Finding supplements to help me balance my body was my new mission. Well, it was super easy.  The first thing I tried was right on target, Progessence Plus. I added Endoflex a few months later to support my endocrine system and I have been a happy camper ever since in the hormone department.  After I that I began looking for good hair products that were natural, safe and nourished my dry straw-like mane. The first thing I added to my routine was Cedarwood essential oil. A few drops on my scalp after I wash my hair and a quick scalp massage and that's it! It smells amazing! Look up all the benefits for hair. I add one drop to my mascara tube along with one dro...

What to diffuse with the PSK

Image
Did you just get your Premium Starter Kit from Young Living? Are you sniffing all your bottles and wondering what to try in your diffuser?  It is a big decision. We don't want to waste our lovely oils and what if we get a weird combo and pump it out into the room?  Here is a little information to help you get started.  Use good water in your diffuser. If you live in an area with hard water, use filtered or distilled.  Remember to clean your diffuser often. Wipe it out (gently) between uses, and clean with alcohol every 4-5 uses. Watch that you don't get any liquid down inside the vent hole!  Start slow and light. Diffuse for 30 minutes and see how your system reacts. Oils are potent and some can cause our bodies to want to slough off all the toxins inside. That is good but doing it quickly can feel bad. 😳 So what to diffuse and why? Many of the oils are great on their own.  Purification: light, clean, fresh, and cit...

Make Take and Scan Class with

Image
This weekend a friend and I did a "make and take" class with a twist. While I helped with the projects, she did Itovi scans.  We had six ladies attend and it went smoothly with a few at each station and one being scanned.  Here are the creation stations: Purification room spray (in the kitchen) Thieves foaming hand soap Fruit and cheese trays, plus fruit infused water (it's still in the fridge) pitcher with fresh fruit and ice. I also get out my Ningxia bottle during the party and offer it to any who want to try. It is such an amazing juice that supports our whole system.  Peppermint sugar scrub in the dining room. Lavender bath salt in the dining room. I put a dish towel at each station because life is messy. I also set up a little demo of what to do with your empties, my foaming pods and a few products to try like the lavender lotion.  The top bags are the door prizes. A thieves cleaner (d...
