You Have More Control Than You Know

Image
disclaimer: I am not a medical professional. I am sharing personal experiences that have helped my family and I hope will help others.  Autoimmunity is becoming nearly epidemic.  Our own bodies are declaring civil war. It can be genetics, lifestyle, or a complete mystery as to why someone ends up with an autoimmune diagnosis.  At our house, I and my son both have an autoimmune disorder. Mine is inherited, it is Hoshimotos Thyroiditis. It is treatable and not too hard to live with for me. Click here to read my post on how I help my own body find balance again with natural supplements.  My son's is not inherited. It is a rare condition called Parry Romberg Syndrome (PRS). From the outside, he looks like any other teen boy. On the inside, he has scarring, leaking vessels, nerves that have been attacked and never stop sending pain signals (Trigeminal Neuralgia, or TN).   His condition is harder to treat. We see many specialists...

Supplement Spotlight for Spring

Image
Here are a few suggestions to add to your March order in preparation for spring.  I use Agilease all year but if you are like me, you are more active when the weather is nice. AgilEase is joint support. I find I can garden longer and with less discomfort when I am taking this.  We have learned that if the gut is healthy the rest of our systems follow along. There are many digestive support items available at YL check them out and see which one is best for you. I recommend Allerzyme for seasonal support!  Time to lose that holiday fluff! The Slique line will help you jump start your summer body in a safe natural way. These last two are going to sell out come summer time, so grab them while there is plenty in stock.    Get your safe and natural insect repellent, and sunscreen before you need them.  You will be glad they are already on hand when its time to use them.  “She turned to the sunlight   ...

Cooking with Vitality Essential Oils

Image
Many essential oils are plants we eat already. So it isn't surprising to use them in our cooking. There are a few things to take into consideration first. Is it a pure oil with no additives of any kind? Does the company source its oils in a way that can guarantee there were no pesticides or other toxins introduced during the process of making the oil? Essential oils are extremely concentrated. One drop of oil can compare to gallons of the plant in taste and impact. True essential oils break down in heat. The easiest way to introduce oils into your diet is water. All the citrus oils, as well as peppermint, taste great in water. I know many add a drop of peppermint to their coffee or tea as well. Experiment!  The tried and true trick is the toothpick swirl for introducing oils into dishes like dips, salad dressings and so on. Just dip a toothpick tip in the oil and swirl in the food item you are creating. Like lemon into cream cheese for a cheesecake....

What to diffuse with the PSK

Image
Did you just get your Premium Starter Kit from Young Living? Are you sniffing all your bottles and wondering what to try in your diffuser?  It is a big decision. We don't want to waste our lovely oils and what if we get a weird combo and pump it out into the room?  Here is a little information to help you get started.  Use good water in your diffuser. If you live in an area with hard water, use filtered or distilled.  Remember to clean your diffuser often. Wipe it out (gently) between uses, and clean with alcohol every 4-5 uses. Watch that you don't get any liquid down inside the vent hole!  Start slow and light. Diffuse for 30 minutes and see how your system reacts. Oils are potent and some can cause our bodies to want to slough off all the toxins inside. That is good but doing it quickly can feel bad. 😳 So what to diffuse and why? Many of the oils are great on their own.  Purification: light, clean, fresh, and cit...

Thyroid Support & Young Living

Image
I did a post for my private Facebook group recently on Thyroid support. That little thyroid sure does affect every part of our bodies! I personally have Hashimoto Thyroiditis. I was diagnosed over 10 years ago. It is hereditary for me and we have many generations with hypothyroidism on my mother's side of the family.  There are many supplements that support the thyroid, but I am going to highlight my personal top 4. 1)Endoflex - supports the entire endocrine system. Apply over the thyroid, adrenal glands, kidneys, liver, vitaflex on feet, can be ingested and diffused. I apply to my thyroid and adrenals (kidney area on my back) morning and night.  2)Sulfurzyme - this is a capsule, I take 1-2 in the morning and night. This supports the entire body, helps the immune system, and joints (includi ng my back!)  3)Thyromin - Another capsule, I take two at night. Developed by Gary Young who no longer has a thyroid. This does not force thyroid to certain leve...

Essential Oil Class or Party Set Up (in your home)

Image
Sharing is caring! I love having in home classes and telling others about the benefits of essential oils.  I know that it can be intimidating so I am sharing how I do the basic or 101 class it in my home.  Start with a good diffuser blend. I used a fall scent for the season. This one was orange, clove, cinnamon bark, and pine. Thieves blend  is  good but can cause detox in some so it is one I avoid. Stress Away, Purification, and just orange are all good ones too.  I personally think fresh flowers make a home look inviting. I usually have flowers in my home anyway but I  step it up a notch when I do a class.  I always have food at my classes. Many have food allergies etc. so I usually stick with cheese, fruit, veggies, and do a gluten free cracker. (Pardon the mess, I took the pic before I put away everything.) Fruit-infused water and tea are usually what I offer to drink. I always introduce NingXia juice during the class...

Young Living Mountain Mist Deodorant

Image
Product Review Have you been looking for a safer, healthier deodorant? I have. Being a DIY girl I tried making my own but found the ones that had the consistency I liked had so much baking soda my skin broke out. I can say that armpits are a sensitive area and it really can make you miserable if they are sore, broken out, or rash covered!  I read a post from one of my upline that they use the Young Living Deodorant at night to help flush toxins! That was what made me go ahead and order the AromaGuard Mountain Mist Deodorant. One thing I love about Young Living is the full disclosure. You can read every ingredient right on the website.  I have been using it a month now, and I really like it! It smells nice, goes on smoothly, and works! It does feel a tad wet when first applied, but I had no skin reaction at all!  I have officially switched and will be trying the other scent soon.  I can't really speak to the toxin flush, but I know the ingredients all...

Simple Essential Oil Class Set Up

Image
I had a few friends over to talk oils! This wasn't a typical class or party but I still did a little prep work besides the research on oils I always do.  This is my dining table. At one end I set up little cups with a cotton ball and a drop of oil for a little guessing game. I provided slips to fill out and pens. If I have a large gathering I will do a little prize for the one who gets the most right.  In the center are the oils we will be discussing that night. I was having just a few ladies so I kept it informal and we sat around the table and talked. When I have a big gathering I set up  in the living area with more of a display. The nice thing about us all around the table is they can easily pick up and smell the oils and it prompts questions.   I always use oils that are everyday plants. This week I used geranium, basil, oregano, dill, peppermint, orange, and lavender.  Snack are important too. I usually do a fruit and cheese board, wit...

Staying on track while running the treadmill of life

Image
All the holiday decorations are stashed back in the attic. The cupboards have been purged (mostly) of the junkie treats we indulged in for the last 6 weeks. The fridge is stocked with veggies and fruit.  Now what?  Small bites. Most of my to do list is elephant sized projects.  "How do you eat and elephant? One bite at a time." It is overwhelming. I have loads of purging to do in closets. There are some big health issues to get under control. Add in the everyday schooling, chores, parenting, financial stresses and life surprises - it's time to go back to bed!  Here is where I started. With me. I know selfish right? I really couldn't see me moving forward at any pace while my ongoing battle with Hashimotos wasn't in check.  Low thyroid affects every part of your body. It can wreak havoc with emotions, energy levels, and health. I noticed my thyroid swelling again, joint pain on the increase, sleep issues creeping in. One big sign fo...
