This week's video is a true sew-along.  I make two totes using up large scraps. The bags are made to make the best use of the fabric pieces I had. The first bag is the smaller one. It uses about half a yard of fabric. and is lined. A quick review of a day of thrifting. I spent just over $100 USD on this haul. The purpose of most of the items is to recycle them into a fabric collage or art quilt. It is a collaborative project I am working on with a friend. I was happy to find a few pieces for myself, my hubby and one of my daughters. Here is a better view of the little black statement dress.  It is so fun to thrift with a buddy! We helped each other cull through all the great finds and not overbuy.  Look for future posts on our adventure into the fabric collage realm. It is a learn as we go project for both of us. Are you still using synthetic fragrances, burning candles, using perfumed lotion? We have been doing a major cleanse at our house. That picture is the last thing that was hiding in a cabinet from our toxic past. Did you know that nearly every personal product, air freshener, candle, wax melt, and cleaning product contains synthetic fragrance? It is surprising that the thing that draws us in, the smell, is so dangerous to our health! We have alternatives. We diffuse true plant essential oils for fresh air and a good smelling home. First of all, do you have loads of empty oil bottles? I do! Like over one hundred.  Below is one of the ways I am storing empties right now. I have a box full in the closet too! I share my love of Young Living with everyone. I try not to be annoying, it's just that Young Living has made such a difference in my family. I think everyone should know. So here is my version. The nice thing is when you do your own you can personalize it to who you are sharing with.  After letting them hang out in a bowl of Epsom salt. I clean them and remove the labels. To remove the labels I soap them in warm water with a tad of Thieves Household Cleaner.
