DIY Thieves Cleaning Wipes

Image
There are so many reports on the dangers of toxic cleaners. Have you read this one? IMPACT OF CLEANING PRODUCTS ON WOMEN'S LUNGS AS DAMAGING AS 20-A-DAY CIGARETTE HABIT: STUDY The point of cleaning is to make our environment healthy and safe. If it is making your environment toxic and hurting your health it is time to change.  Did you know that I save around $15 a month by using Thieves cleaner instead of the stuff I used to buy at the store? It has replaced my toilet cleaner, floor cleaner, and shower scrub. I can use it on my granite countertops, wood floors, baseboards, and dust my furniture with it. I have put it in my dishwasher with vinegar in place of the rinse aid.  Here is a recipe for making foaming cleaning bombs . They can be used in the toilet or the dishwasher! If you just keep the mix in a jar instead of pressing into molds it is a good scrub for tubs, grout etc. Cost breakdown: (on the Young Living products the price is wholesale ...

No Nest To Call My Own... YET

Image
Our house in Oklahoma is now occupied by a new family. We have been staying with our family for six days now. Eight more days of being a transient to go! We are so thankful that the time between houses was shortened by a week and we are now closing five days earlier.  Here is what we are doing during this time of floating. 3 days of packing and loading I prepared for the packers by grouping items together in the rooms I wanted them associated with. I put all my diffusers together in the kitchen (except the one I packed to go with us on our travels). This way I could find them easily on the other end.    We are so blessed to have professionals do almost all of the work.  It took two days of boxing and one for loading then a few hours of cleaning and we turned the house over for closing.  Choosing what to keep with us Essential oils, supplements, and medication need to stay at room temperature so they are bei...

Planning Your Essential Rewards Orders to Get the Greatest Benefit

Image
If you are my friend and know anything about Young Living I have told you how great the Essential Rewards program is. It is the easiest, fastest way to build your oily stash.  This is part of my stash. I have the bathroom items in a linen closet, and diffusers, and boxed items in my office closet. Most of it was FREE with the monthly promotion. Essential Rewards is free to participate in once you are a member. It gives back points to spend on items. The one requirement is you order at least 50 PV a month. It isn't hard to do. Especially if you are actually using your oils.  I started replacing my old toxin-laden household items with safe ones from YL. Out with the old shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, cleaners, toothpaste, deodorant, supplements, skin care, and now MAKEUP! Woot! I didn't do it all in one month. I planned it out and replaced a few things each month. I had been making many of my own products trying to get away from toxins, and I still do. B...

Summer Slowdown

Image
This is the summer of transition and boy do I feel it. In one month both of my daughters will move out of state to college.    We had to take time out and escape to the country. I needed some time with my parents and sister and the kids did too.   Giant old magnolia. Rolling hills in all directions... Cicada shell hanging out in the secret garden. It's really no secret, but my son named it so. It is this neat little area with a trellis entrance under an old apple tree.  The sounds are so different away from the city. The Bob Whites were calling in the pasture, along with the cow birds. The hum of all the invisible insect life was amazing. One of the many treasures, a painting by my grandmother. I know it's a mess, but I was a spring roll making machine! This keeps me on track with my weight watchers. See that old cutting board, it has to be at least 50 years old.  One of the many beautiful pastures.  ...

Take Me Home Country Roads

My son and I sneaked away for a few days to visit my family at their cattle ranch.  When we pull in the guard bull is on duty. This little calf is named Spanky.  He was so tiny when born he was the size of a dog.  He has been hand fed and raised and follows around my brother-in-law like a puppy. Don't let your guard down though, he will butt strangers and beller!  I was weeding under a rose bush when that ornery calf decided to let his presence be known. I'm glad I knew he was there or I would still be untangling myself from the climbing rose. A full day of sanding a go-cart makes for a dirty happy boy.  Then we put him to work stripping wallpaper.  This house was built in the 40's. The oldest layer of wallpaper is corn! It looks like rows and rows of corn on the cob. I wonder what the colors were like originally. Now it is dark brown with turquoise  highlights. He gets some free time to d...
