This week I update some of the decorative elements in my bedroom. I make pillows and a lampshade! The fabrics are from JoAnn and Fabric.com. The trim on the pillow is from Trims By The Yard . The trim on the lampshade is from Hobby Lobby.

It has been hard to get fabric for the last two months. Even ordering was surprisingly difficult. So much was sold out or had long shipping delays.  I'm sharing what I found during the first few weeks of May and the projects to come!  Some of the masks I made. ↓

I L🤍VE sewing my own underwear! It is not hard at all and you get to make exactly what you want and fit it to your individual shape. If you struggle to get a pattern in your size this is the tutorial for you. I show a basic way to size up for plus and down for those of you who are really petite. I have hardly ever worn foundation as an adult. It didn't matter what I chose it sat on my skin looking like a mask or crept into every little line and wrinkle emphasizing what I wanted to downplay.  Dry skin didn't make the issue any better. Plus I have sensitive skin and most makeup would make my skin burn and rash.  I have been a lipstick and mascara girl forever out of necessity. I owned way more skin care products than makeup.   WELL! Then Savvy Minerals happened.  I had no bad reactions at all. Give me all the makeup! This was so exciting. I do still have dry skin however and powder makeup on dry skin needs lots of moisture. Here is my hack. Take your favorite YL moisturizer and sprinkle in Savvy Minerals Foundation.  I am currently using Sandalwood Moisturizer and Cool #1 foundation.  If you need a bit more coverage once you have applied the moisturizer you can layer more of the powder.

It takes a while for a new house to feel like home. For me, it is all the personal touches.   I finally got my sewing space set up so I can work again! This room is larger than my last one but it is in the basement and has NO windows! UGH! I am so thankful that the Bernina has so many wonderful lights on it or it would be a nightmare to sew in there. I am working on getting some better light and we will eventually open up the rest of the basement allowing natural light in. This is a lovely Waverly fabric I ordered online. Our new house has high ceilings and I needed 9 yards to make two curtains! 😲 I also bought 9 yards of plain curtain lining. It is actually very easy to make lined curtains. A lined curtain will last longer, hang better from the rod, and block light better. Plus, it just looks finished and professional. Sheet masks are everywhere in every price range. I have found they can be an amazing addition to a beauty routine.  The best one I have ever used is this one. It is the ART Beauty Masque from Young Living. My skin looked amazing after using it. The mask (masque) is actually quite large and you can trim off the excess and apply it to your neck!  So why make your own when there are so many available? Price and targeted support! Why would you want to use a sheet mask? They are easy, not too messy, can be done at home, and really do nourish your skin if you choose the right ingredients!  Here is how it works. Buy dry, plain sheet masks. The ones in the picture are from Diaso. They can be ordered from Amazon for $6.45 for a dozen. I think I paid about half that at the store. Rollerball bottles are the easiest way to apply oils. Especially on the go. That is why I made this purse kit with some of my favorite on the go blends.    I bought a box of tins and 6 sets of the colored metal roller bottles. I liked the gold lids with the gold lettering I  made on my silhouette cameo 3. Most of us who have been with Young Living know the amazing benefits of the Raindrop Technique for overall wellness and immune system support.  There is great training available to learn the technique and many videos too.  But in a pinch, this roller is a great item to have in your oily toolkit to keep your family above the wellness line.  Since we have one child with a rare disease who cannot have over the counter meds, this is our only defense. When anyone starts to dip down into illness. This roller comes out. We roll it down our spine and on the bottoms of our feet. I repeat at least 3 times a day. Usually, it only takes a day or two to be back into wellness! 

I ran out of my Thieves laundry soap this week. I know, big deal. In a normal week, this would be a problem but we could survive until my next monthly Young Living order arrived. This week was not normal. We had been gone for a week and had laundry for the whole family to do before two of my kids left in 1 day for a week of camp. I had also offered to let our Youth Minister do his laundry at our house as he was doing the 1 day turn around between weeks of camp too. OOPS!  We gave the last of our Thieves Laundry soap to our youth minister when I realized I didn't have another bottle.  But I have a few bottles of the regular Thieves Household Cleaner (THC).
