With two in college and one in high school, I am in the homestretch with this homeschool thing. We are fortunate there are so many resources available to us now.   Here are a few of my favorites that have benefitted all of my children, especially my youngest and most reluctant student.  All of the options below require internet and a computer or mobile device.  Crash Course Videos These thoughtful, well-planned videos cover many subjects from Biology, History, Literature, Psychology and much more.  I have found them to be a wonderful supplement to the curriculum we are using and in some cases, the series could just about replace another curriculum. These have become so popular that many schools are now using them and PBS has even partnered with the Green brothers YouTube channel. Are you looking for a Christmas devotion? Last year I did this on with my ladies Bible Study group. I can't recommend it enough. Get yours at Amazon .com As part of the devotion, you can make a Jesse tree and ornaments. I printed out each day's ornament and trimmed it in glitter scrapbook paper. I used a large glass vase filled sand and Christmassy glass pebbles.  I found flocked and crystal-crusted tree branches at Hobby Lobby for the actual Jesse Tree. Here is the naked tree ready for an ornament a day. The finished ornaments are simple and sparkly. I chose not to put a hole and string on them. Instead, I am hanging them with tiny clothespins. Both of my daughters are back at college and my son in high school. I was just thinking about how we don't get sick much at all anymore. One of my favorite things on earth is Bible study. I did my first study book while still in grade school. When I had my first child we lived far from family and I found comfort in my evening study time. I joined my first ladies Bible study about 15 years ago. It was life changing for me. .  We were a small group who prayed, encouraged and worked our way through Beth Moore's Breaking Free. I was hooked. The ladies were of all ages and walks of life and they taught me so much about living and loving and the Bible. Wednesday night we have a ladies Bible study at our church. We have traveled many journeys together in our classroom. In the last 12 years, our study has taken us through nearly every book of the Bible, in depth.  Some of the authors we have used are Beth Moore, Ann  Voscamp,  Francis Chan, Kelly Minter, Pricilla Shirer. All the holiday decorations are stashed back in the attic. The cupboards have been purged (mostly) of the junkie treats we indulged in for the last 6 weeks. The fridge is stocked with veggies and fruit.  Now what?  Small bites. Most of my to do list is elephant sized projects.  "How do you eat and elephant? One bite at a time." It is overwhelming. I have loads of purging to do in closets. There are some big health issues to get under control. Add in the everyday schooling, chores, parenting, financial stresses and life surprises - it's time to go back to bed!  Here is where I started. With me. I know selfish right? It is the end of the year and time to take inventory. I'm doing this literally and figuratively for the next few days. Not because it's the end of the year (though that works too), but because I have some free time and can really focus on it!  First step is some easy stuff. Oil Inventory - I get loads of free oils and supplements from Young Living. I am starting two new Bible studies this week, both I am in some way facilitating at least some of the time.  Part of Bible study for me is memory work. Usually I write my memory verses on index cards and post them all over the house, carry one in my purse, crochet bag, and Bible. Today, however, I was inspired to make it beautiful and fun. Like a gift every time I worked on my verse.  This is my Scripture Flower. I made it from scraps of scrapbook paper.  I didn't have any double sided paper to so I glued some together.
