Why You Should be Diffusing at Night

Image
Friends, there is hardly ever a time not to diffuse!  Here are some good reasons to add diffusing to your nighttime routine. 1. The humidity will help your breathing, especially in the winter when the heater is running. Add one drop each of peppermint, lavender, and lemon, or try RC, Raven, or one of the eucalyptus oils to get the full benefit. 2.  Adding certain essentials oil will help you relax and sleep more soundly. Here are a few  suggestions: lavender, valerian, Stress Away, Peace and Calming 3.  Boost your immunity while you sleep. Thieves  is  my personal go-to for immunity support I sometimes add orange just because it smells great while still doing all good stuff.  Frankincense is a good on its own or with Thieves. 4.   Do you need any more reasons? Just kidding! DREAMS- really. Some essential oils may help you in this area are Dream Catcher and sandalwood. 5. Do-over. sometimes I need an emotional reset at the end...

Inexpensive Pampering DIY's

Image
Let's talk about Epsom salt. This simple inexpensive product is so underrated!  Epsom salt will give you a good magnesium boost and is great to soothe tired muscles and relax before bed. My son often soaks in an Epsom salt bath when he has a bad headache. Studies show magnesium is vital to our health . Here is a great article explaining some of the benefits.  Medical News Today: Magnesium.   I love to do at home pedicures. I use a cheap plastic foot tub. Start by c overing the bottom with Epsom salt.  Next, add a few drops of essential oils to the top of the salt before I drop in the water.  Choose oils that will support you at that moment. If you need to relax, try lavender or peace and calming. Feeling a little under the weather add thieves oil. Need some respiratory support, add eucalyptus and peppermint. This time I used Tea Tree, Sclaressence, and Clary sage. They smell great, and I need their particular kids of support this night. ...

Diffuser Blends for Blah Days

Image
We are stuck in the cycle of cold overcast days followed by warm windy days. It makes it hard to choose what to wear and everyone is complaining about their sinuses.  I have been choosing blends that are bright and zippy and feel like spring. Blend # 1 is 2 drops each of Peppermint, Lemongrass, and Rosemary.  This is bright and cheerful smelling to me. I love Lemongrass and it is great on its own or in combination with many other oils like citrus. Orange is another favorite. I use so much I order it nearly every month.  Blend #2 combine 4 drops of orange with 2 drops of peppermint. Spearmint is zippy all on its own. Blend # 3 is 4 drops Orange and 2 drops Spearmint Peppermint happens to be great sinus support and is good for sleepy mornings to help get you moving.

Immune Support for the Holidays

Image
( Disclaimer: I am not prescribing or giving medical advice. It is always good to go to your doctor. I am sharing my personal experiences. Also when using essential oils on the skin always test for sensitivity and use a carrier oil like coconut or even olive oil if you need to.)  Everyone I know is getting sick! ICK! It's the holiday rush, stress, fluctuating weather patterns, people overload at every store...  Our systems need a little extra TLC this time of year. Here is where I start. Give your immune system the big guns with a one-two punch of Inner Defence and Thieves essential oil blend.  I take an Inner Defence softgel morning and night and apply Thieves to my feet if I feel the slightest tickle in my throat or drip in my nose.  Thieves is great to diffuse I add a drop of it to my Christmas spirit and get yummy smells and wellness support. If it is too late and you are below the wellness line still do both of those things above, ...

Essential oil Spotlight - Melrose

Image
Marvelous Melrose This amazing blend was first recommended to us for emotional support for my patient, diplomatic child. We joked she was allergic to her family because the rest of us are more... intense.  Truly, it has a wonderful calming effect.  Since then, we have found many wonderful uses for Melrose. because it contains two kinds of tea tree skin support is an obvious use. Especially, angry, itchy, or unhappy skin that needs to be soothed. It also supports the respiratory and immune system.  All four ingredients in Melrose are good immune support, as well as purifying, uplifting and calming. If used on smaller children make sure to dilute.  This can be applied to the scalp, fingernails, skin that is flaky, has a blemish or an owie. This has a more delicate scent than a straight tea tree.

Essential Oil Spotlight - Oregano

Image
This amazing powerhouse oil does a lot!  If you are in need of a wellness boost this is it. For the month of September, this is one of the free promo oils at the 100 PV level!  The body systems oregano supports are the respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, mental, and metabolic. It is also good for joints. Because it is considered a "hot" oil, always dilute before applying to your skin, unless it is on the bottom of your feet.  This happens to be one of the many oils that can be found in the aromatic and vitality lines. Try adding this to your spaghetti sauce! Remeber this isn't an extract it is concentrated. A tiny dip of a toothpick may be all it takes. Want to know more about cooking with the vitality line of essential oils Click here . Oregano is one of the oils used in the Raindrop Method. It can also be found in Ortho Sport Massage Oil.  I make a Raindrop Roller for my family and keep it ready. Especially with a child w...

Healthy Hair - Natural Support

Image
Hair is sort of a big deal to me. I have always had thick hair for a blonde. But I started losing hair in my mid-forties and it freaked me out!  I immediately started researching reasons for my sudden shedding.  The main reason women around my age start losing hair is hormones. I know... Finding supplements to help me balance my body was my new mission. Well, it was super easy.  The first thing I tried was right on target, Progessence Plus. I added Endoflex a few months later to support my endocrine system and I have been a happy camper ever since in the hormone department.  After I that I began looking for good hair products that were natural, safe and nourished my dry straw-like mane. The first thing I added to my routine was Cedarwood essential oil. A few drops on my scalp after I wash my hair and a quick scalp massage and that's it! It smells amazing! Look up all the benefits for hair. I add one drop to my mascara tube along with one dro...

What to diffuse with the PSK

Image
Did you just get your Premium Starter Kit from Young Living? Are you sniffing all your bottles and wondering what to try in your diffuser?  It is a big decision. We don't want to waste our lovely oils and what if we get a weird combo and pump it out into the room?  Here is a little information to help you get started.  Use good water in your diffuser. If you live in an area with hard water, use filtered or distilled.  Remember to clean your diffuser often. Wipe it out (gently) between uses, and clean with alcohol every 4-5 uses. Watch that you don't get any liquid down inside the vent hole!  Start slow and light. Diffuse for 30 minutes and see how your system reacts. Oils are potent and some can cause our bodies to want to slough off all the toxins inside. That is good but doing it quickly can feel bad. 😳 So what to diffuse and why? Many of the oils are great on their own.  Purification: light, clean, fresh, and cit...
