Thieves Fruit and Veggie Soak (another use)

Image
This month (March 2019) Young Living is blessing us with all things Thieves for our promotional items. I love this so much! If you look back at past blogs I have lots of DIYs that include the Thieves cleaner and dish soap.  But what about that big container of veggie soak? I love and I use it. It does last a long time if the only thing you are doing is washing produce with it. BUT, it is great made into a spray and to use for spot cleaning just like your Thieves spray. It does have some different ingredients (from the thieves spray) like Digize and Purification oils. These make it a great option to use in areas where you need to squash odor along with any crud left on the surface. Here is how I make up a spray with the Veggie soak for using on my cutting boards or counters. especially after cutting onions or garlic!   Regular use for the soak is two tablespoons per 1 gallon of water. It doesn't take much. So in a small purse sized spray bottle it...

DIY Wet Mop Pads with Thieves

Image
Thieves Household cleaner is the only cleaner you need to buy!  This week I made wet mopping pads (like Swiffer without all the bad ingredients). I already have the mop that takes the wet or dry pads. What you need: dry mop pads a sealable container distilled water Thieves Household cleaner Thieves liquid dish soap 1 cup distilled water 1/2 cap of Thieves Household cleaner 1 tsp of Thieves dish soap Optional: add a few drops of lemon essential oil for a more lemony smell.  This is the same recipe I use for the thieves wipes only halved! You can find the original post here.  DIY Thieves cleaning wipes The 32 count is about $7.00 in our area. That is about the cost of 24 wet pads if buying generic.   I already had the container so $0 for that for me. :)  This is how they look once soaked. I found it didn't take the full 2 cup recipe th...

DIY Bath Fizzies for Your Home Spa (notox)

Image
Do you love a bath bomb but not the price, sketchy ingredients, and loads of dye that stains your tub? Me too! They are so easy to make and the ingredients are easy to come by.  You will notice I don't use any dyes in my products. That is my personal preference. I have a jetted tub and I do not like trying to get it clean after using brightly colored bath products. I also don't add lots of dried flowers or herbs for the same reason. Who needs to spend even more time cleaning? Watch the step by step video below or skip on down for the recipe and directions. When fully combined it will feel like wet sand and hold its shape when pressed in your hand. However you decide to mold them, they will need 24 hours to completely dry before they are stored.  In the video, I used lavender essential oil and organic vanilla extract for relaxing bath experience. Below is a list of oils and why you might want to use them. Eucalyptus - respiratory...

My New Favortie YL Products!

Image
I try to add a new product with my monthly order whenever possible. Most months I have so many needs that I can only fit one new item. This month I was able to get two! I love them both! Let's talk about lipstick.  I love lipstick. Often, it's the only makeup I wear along with mascara. The thing is,  I'm getting older and have trouble with many lipsticks feathering, but not the Cinnamint Infused Lipstick. I ordered Untamed.  It is my new favorite and I will be ordering more colors next month.  So here it is on with no other makeup, my usual look. I'm fair complected, and this is a great winter color for me.  Another product used daily in our home is the lavender lotion. It goes a long way and so nourishing to the skin.  I was getting ready to order another bottle when I thought I have never even tried any of the other options. WELL, the Genesis lotion is great! I love the light scent and how far a little dab goes. I am so glad I ventured...

Inexpensive Pampering DIY's

Image
Let's talk about Epsom salt. This simple inexpensive product is so underrated!  Epsom salt will give you a good magnesium boost and is great to soothe tired muscles and relax before bed. My son often soaks in an Epsom salt bath when he has a bad headache. Studies show magnesium is vital to our health . Here is a great article explaining some of the benefits.  Medical News Today: Magnesium.   I love to do at home pedicures. I use a cheap plastic foot tub. Start by c overing the bottom with Epsom salt.  Next, add a few drops of essential oils to the top of the salt before I drop in the water.  Choose oils that will support you at that moment. If you need to relax, try lavender or peace and calming. Feeling a little under the weather add thieves oil. Need some respiratory support, add eucalyptus and peppermint. This time I used Tea Tree, Sclaressence, and Clary sage. They smell great, and I need their particular kids of support this night. ...

Breakup with your Makeup Class

Image
This past weekend I did a break up with your make up class with some of my E. oily friends. I did a powerpoint with all the skincare and makeup from Young Living! The room was set up in a U shape with personal mirrors, and table glitter for a bit of glam.    To the side, we had the FULL line of makeup and skincare on display. This allowed us to swatch and color match for everyone so they could order their best colors!  I don't have the full line but between the three of us that put the class on, we have everything! So do classes with your crossline cousins. :)  I am so sad I didn't take pictures of everyone after they were all made up in their Savvy Faces! Look below for my Fast Savvy Face right before the class.  Suggested supply list for the class: Diffusers - (gotta make the room smell amazing) I diffused lime and peppermint that day.  Tables cloths - this gives continuity to the room and makes for ea...

Get The Most Out of Your YL Deoderant

Image
Here is a little trick I do to get the most out of my YL deodorant.  First of all, I love their deodorant, both scents. I always have a little bit left in the container. Just a tad. But I want to use it all! I pull out the insert with the leftovers in it. Then I pry out all the deodorant into a glass measuring cup. I forgot to take a pic of the pieces before I melted them down. Over a double boiler melt the pieces down.  I personally like to add a few drops of lemongrass. It is fresh and bright. Then put the insert back into one of the empty tubes and roll it down so there is plenty of room to pour in the mixture.  It sets up quickly!  Roll it up to close to the top before it completely sets and let it set up for a few hours.  That's it! Now I have weeks more of deo to use!  Do not mix the deodorant of other people together! Make sure you wipe away any lint etc. before you melt it down. Get...
