Life is full of transitions. Some are so natural we hardly notice. Others are exciting and rewarding and we run through it like a finish line.  Then there are the rough transitions.   No matter what type of journey we are on change can be difficult and full of surprises. Even just the transition from summer to back to school can be hard. We all need some adjustment time, but we don't always get it. Our family is on a good journey with lots of wonderful things ahead but it still isn't easy. For me, one of the hardest things about moving to a new state is leaving my amazing community. The second is the time spent in limbo. I am a 47-year-old woman with 2 grown children in college and one half-way through high school. My husband is about 10 years from retirement. We are in the settled down and settled in stage of life.  I have ministries I love and a rewarding part-time job where I feel like I make a difference. I would say content pretty well sums up life for us. Well, things are about to change and change fast! This summer began with a fast trip to move the college kids out of the dorm and home for a short 2 months, before settling them in their apartment back at school. I so LOVE the spring! We plan our garden, throw out lots of clutter, tighten up our budget, and open the windows. I also can see the end of the school year in sight. It is so wonderful!   I know you are already cleaning with Thieves Cleaner. It is the best. No contest. I use it for all glass, mirrors, countertops, toilets. I dust with it. I spray my floors with it and use my steam mop.   This month Thieves Cleaner in on our promotion at the 250 PV level! PLUS, we get the great glass bottle. So no excuses, start using it. It lasts a long time even when you use it on everything. We also get the Thieves dish soap this month at the 190 PV level. The best way to use this (in my opinion) is in a foaming liquid soap dispenser. The usual ratio is 5 parts water to 1 part liquid soap. It is so concentrated! Get yours at Amazon .com As part of the devotion, you can make a Jesse tree and ornaments. I printed out each day's ornament and trimmed it in glitter scrapbook paper. I used a large glass vase filled sand and Christmassy glass pebbles.  I found flocked and crystal-crusted tree branches at Hobby Lobby for the actual Jesse Tree. Here is the naked tree ready for an ornament a day. The finished ornaments are simple and sparkly. I chose not to put a hole and string on them. Instead, I am hanging them with tiny clothespins. One of my favorite things on earth is Bible study. I did my first study book while still in grade school. When I had my first child we lived far from family and I found comfort in my evening study time. I joined my first ladies Bible study about 15 years ago. It was life changing for me. .  We were a small group who prayed, encouraged and worked our way through Beth Moore's Breaking Free. I was hooked. The ladies were of all ages and walks of life and they taught me so much about living and loving and the Bible. Wednesday night we have a ladies Bible study at our church. We have traveled many journeys together in our classroom. In the last 12 years, our study has taken us through nearly every book of the Bible, in depth.  Some of the authors we have used are Beth Moore, Ann  Voscamp,  Francis Chan, Kelly Minter, Pricilla Shirer. It is the end of the year and time to take inventory. I'm doing this literally and figuratively for the next few days. Not because it's the end of the year (though that works too), but because I have some free time and can really focus on it!  First step is some easy stuff. Oil Inventory - I get loads of free oils and supplements from Young Living. It is time for all the busyness to slow,  to fix our hearts on  Yeshua,  to let the Prince of Peace reign, adore Him who is, and who was, and who is to come.     

A few days ago my son, along with many of his friends in our church youth group, volunteered at a retirement center. The center was having a grand holiday party with a beautiful buffet, family visiting, horse drawn carriage rides, and photos with Santa. The youth volunteers all got costumes of some kind and little jobs. Some were elves greeting, working at the carriage ride, or helping Mr. and Mrs. Clause, there was a tall snowman, and a handful were going to be a lovely live nativity at the entrance.  My son was given shepherd robes, a giant candy cane that had been wrapped in brown paper to make it a crook, a few directions, and a chair covered in burlap on a bed of hay.  These were the directions, "sit still and adore Jesus." :) It made me laugh!   Of course as soon as we left the house to do this little chore he got a horrible headache  in the car , so I gave him all his essential oils, over the counter meds and (don...

I am starting two new Bible studies this week, both I am in some way facilitating at least some of the time.  Part of Bible study for me is memory work. Usually I write my memory verses on index cards and post them all over the house, carry one in my purse, crochet bag, and Bible. Today, however, I was inspired to make it beautiful and fun. Like a gift every time I worked on my verse.  This is my Scripture Flower. I made it from scraps of scrapbook paper.  I didn't have any double sided paper to so I glued some together.
