Make Take and Scan Class with

Image
This weekend a friend and I did a "make and take" class with a twist. While I helped with the projects, she did Itovi scans.  We had six ladies attend and it went smoothly with a few at each station and one being scanned.  Here are the creation stations: Purification room spray (in the kitchen) Thieves foaming hand soap Fruit and cheese trays, plus fruit infused water (it's still in the fridge) pitcher with fresh fruit and ice. I also get out my Ningxia bottle during the party and offer it to any who want to try. It is such an amazing juice that supports our whole system.  Peppermint sugar scrub in the dining room. Lavender bath salt in the dining room. I put a dish towel at each station because life is messy. I also set up a little demo of what to do with your empties, my foaming pods and a few products to try like the lavender lotion.  The top bags are the door prizes. A thieves cleaner (d...

Turning Bar Soap Into Foaming Soap

Image
When I was a kid, my mom (or was it my big sis?) would take the bar soap ends and melt them into liquid soap or combine them to make a bigger bar.  I love the Young Living bar soap and got the great idea while in the shower to try turning it into a liquid soap for my foaming dispensers. Foaming soap dispensers use so little soap and are a great way to stretch your dollar and pricey castile soap.  I shaved off .5 oz off of my peppermint cedarwood bar soap. Yes, I weighed it. I chopped it into small pieces and put it in my pyrex 2 cup measure. Then I poured 3 oz. water over the soap and microwaved it. Please, not hate over the microwave. We still use ours, especially for things like this.  I did 30 seconds and stirred. It took many short re-heatings to get it all dissolved but it was soft and lovely and smelled amazing. Next time I think I will do the double boiler method because I can control the heat and not have to transfer it in and out over a...

Testing DIY Cleaning Recipes - Foaming Pods

Image
I always say how much I love a DIY! It's true!  Today I tested some recipes for foaming pods to use in the toilet and dishwasher.   (Scroll to the bottom for my cleaning results and cost breakdown if you want to know how well they worked before trying the recipe.) The first recipe is for the toilet pods.  Recipe:  1 cup baking soda 1/4 cup citric acid (I got mine at Amazon) 1 cap of Thieves Household Cleaner (THC) 1 tiny squirt of Thieves dish liquid Mix the baking soda and citric acid first.  Then very slowly add the Thieves cleaner. I mean slow! If you dump it in you will fizz up your mixture and it won't work. You may get a bit of fizz when drizzling but it will be minor. Once the cap is empty squirt a tiny amount of dish soap. This helps binds. It will look dry and crumbly but hold together when pressed. Then I pressed them into a silicone mold I have used for bath bombs. An ice tray would work, but the flexib...

Sewing Room / Office Update

Image
I have been loving my special space for months now. Choosing all the special things to embellish my room has been a slow work in progress. Here is where I am today. I just added this ghost chair and the shuttered mirror. The hunt for a mirror has been on for months. This one was on the clearance aisle this week and I was thrilled! The flower swag is staying in some form but I'm not loving it the way it is. Ghost chair, because it's functional, visually minimal,  and kinda cool.   Sewing corner!! My little lap quilt is finally bound and has little loops to hang it with. For now, it will live on my wall. I want to hand quilt it so I take it down and work on it and put it back up. :) I have a quilt update too, look under the Create and Craft tab at the top. My hubby painted the dress form stand to match my room and added wonderful rollers. Now, I can wheel it where I want and drape or fit in comfort. The poster in the corner is a hand-me-down from my daughter...

Essential Rewards is money in your Young Living oil bank!

Image
I sat down and calculated what I earned in 2016 in Essential Rewards points from Young Living.     drumroll .... $950.63!  That is $950 of wellness for my family! I also got free products each month as well. I know I got more that $2000 in free items with my monthly orders in the last year.  Are you ready to get your own oil bank? I made this video explaining how ER works in the summer. It gives tips on how to up your PV for more free items and points in the bank as well as how to use the program. :)  Since then Young Living has actually added more benefits for being on the program including higher earn back percentages, and loyalty gifts.  There is even a support on the dashboard called PV assist to help you always order the amount you want. You set the level!  This video explains PV assist.  Start 2017 out by earning towards your family's wellness this year.
